Embark on the Murphy's Cove-Lodge's Pond Trail, a 7.7-km coastal loop nestled in the Hike Discovery network. Rated moderate, this trail treats hikers to stunning ocean vistas from several headlands. Halfway along, encounter the historic Green Island Lighthouse, serving as a beacon since 1857 and one of Newfoundland's few manned lighthouses. The trail winds through Murphy’s Cove, a ghostly reminder of a once-thriving fishing community abandoned in the 1960s, where sightings of fishing boats, whales, and seabirds are common.
